Department of English is striving for developing students’ interest in English language and an engagement in providing the knowledge about literatures in English in the world. The department introduces two courses i.e. B. A. in English and M. A. in English. The students coming from surrounding villages have to choose English as a Core Course at second year of their graduation. The courses taught at undergraduation and postgraduation involve internal evaluation and semester-end examination. Apart from the teaching-learning and evaluation, the department engages in doing research in the areas like Translation Studies, Cultural Studies, Postcolonial Studies etc. and paper publication, research project, book publication etc. Addition to this, the department is well-equipped with the internet connectivity in the department and necessary educational teaching aids in Language Laboratory.
